A Motion Design
that invites viewers into the dreamy, poetic journey of Fabrice Moireau’s travel watercolor books, where text emerges like a secret message inside bubbles
Duration: 33 seconds
Design Process:
A Drifting Invitation was inspired by my memories of traveling in Paris and Berlin. Its motion language comes from a matcha pond in Tiergarten filled with birdsong, which led me to imagine text slowly rising from underwater. The opening sign, “Take a glass or a bottle to the park,” was adapted from a wine shop sign I encountered in Berlin.
I imagined the text appearing like a secret message hidden inside bubbles. The animation begins with a few bubbles drifting underwater, hinting at what is to come. A larger bubble then appears with fragments of text inside it. After the message is revealed, the bubble bursts, and the viewer is returned to the underwater world.
The intended feeling is dreamy, surreal, and submerged, as if they are suspended underwater receiving a quiet and poetic invitation.
